Yacht air conditioning is a specialised field that requires the right selection of equipment for the size and type of boat.
For boats less than 20 metres in length, an independent-cabin, direct expansion type air conditioner is generally the right selection.
Larger boats are more effectively served with a chilled water system. This system consolidates multiple compressors to chill water in a reservoir. The chilled (or hot) water is then re-circulated around the boat where local heat exchanges cool the cabin air.
